Mission Statement
Horsefly River Roundtable is to be a catalyst to achieve and maintain healthy Horsefly community watersheds, through coordinated management of all resources, respect for all concerns and cooperative, positive action.
Our story
A Non-Profit Society incorporated in the province of British Columbia in 2008, our area of interest represents those connected with the community of Horsefly, and includes the Horsefly River Watershed, and Beaver Valley.
Our membership consists of individuals who are interested in maintaining a sustainable watershed. We collaborate with federal, provincial and local government, aboriginal groups, industry representatives and all individuals who work and play in our watersheds.

Conservation, Preservation & Restoration
Our Community voice speaks to economic, environmental and social opportunities and issues including; Industrial development , logging and trucking , road development and access , mining and mineral exploration on the Horsefly River and in the watershed, as well as hydroelectric production.

Roundtable Intiatives

Education & Awareness
We educate members and the public through monthly meetings, outdoor signage, kiosks, social media, field days, fundraisers and events.

Communication
We consult and communicate with federal, provincial and local government, community groups, private land owners, aboriginal groups, and industry representatives.

Foresty Working Group
The Roundtable has initiated open dialog with resource extraction stakeholders to ensure that best forest practices are followed in accordance with the BC Ministry of Forests Order FR-5-001. read more>

STREAMKEEPERS
Streamkeepers Courses educate citizens on how to monitor the water quality and health of streams and lakes, and how to track
environmental changes in water quality by using and accessing the federation database. read more>

CLEAN. DRAIN. DRY. Invasive Species Signage
Clean Drain Dry signage at key boat launches within the watershed including BC Parks recreational campsites. Information on how to stop the spread of aquatic invasive species. read more>

Horsefly River VORR Application
The Vessel Operation Restriction Regulations (VORR) provide local authorities with a way to address safety, environmental, and public interest concerns on their local waterways.
