Horsefly River Roundtable
Who
Membership may consist of interested members of the Horsefly community, and education, industry and government agencies that operate in the area, including forest licensees.
Members of the Board of Directors are the only paid members
Horsefly River Roundtable board meetings are open to the public. All attendees may participate in discussion, but only paid members i.e. the Board of Directors, may engage in decision making
Ex-officio members may participate in discussion but do not participate in decision making.
Ex-officio members include Fraser Basin Council staff, DFO staff and NSTQ staff.
What
The Horsefly River Roundtable is incorporated as a Registered Non-Profit Society in the province of British Columbia, number S-53157
Where
The area of interest represents those connected with the community of Horsefly, and includes the Horsefly River Watershed, and Beaver Valley Watershed.
When
Monthly meetings will be held from 7-9pm on the 3rd Thursday of each month. No meetings are generally planned for July and August.
Why
Mission Statement
To be a catalyst to achieve and maintain healthy Horsefly community watersheds, through coordinated management of all resources, respect for all concerns and cooperative, positive action.
How
Governance
The Board of Directors of the Horsefly River Roundtable are committed to the principle of consensus-based decision making. Consensus will be defined as general agreement on a conclusion, or conversely, no substantial disagreement with that conclusion. The parties involved may not agree with every aspect, but taken as a whole, a decision based on consensus satisfies the major interest and concerns to the extent that the members can all support it.
Conflict Resolution
The Directors will work to identify the underlying issues and work towards a solution in a respectful and positive environment.
